Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
