Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
