Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health follows the sports world had expressed its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
